Android devices come with three default typefaces: Droid Sans, Droid Sans Mono and Droid Serif. These typefaces are easy to read and work well with the Android operating system, but they can become a bit stale. Android users with a rooted device have the ability to replace these typefaces with other TTF or True Type fonts if you choose, giving you the ability to fully customize the look of your Android device.
Step 1
Download iFont (Expert of Fonts) APK (latest version) for Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, LG, HTC, Lenovo and all other Android phones, tablets and devices. These days, many of us read from our Android phone or tablet. Part 1: Change system settings; Part 2: Font app for Android; Part 3: Launcher for Android. Delete or overwrite the existing.ttf Android KitKat font with the font files that you want.
Open a Web browser and navigate to a website that offers TTF fonts for download. 1001 Free Fonts, Font Freak and Fonts 101 are a few of the websites that offer this service. Once you find the font that you want to install on your Android device, download the font onto the computer.
Step 2
Connect the Android device to the computer via its USB connection cable. Double-click on the Android's removable storage device icon and open the root folder on the device's SD card. Drag the TTF font you downloaded in Step 1 into the root folder of the device's SD card.
Step 3
Tap the 'Market' application icon on the device's home screen and tap the 'Search' option. Type 'Root Explorer' in the space provided and tap the 'Search' button to search for the application.
Step 4
Tap the 'Root Explorer' application in the list of search results. Tap the 'Install' button and confirm that installation to install the application on the device.
Step 5
Tap the 'Root Explorer' application icon to launch the application. Tap SD card's root folder icon to view its contents. Tap and hold the TTF file in the SD card's root folder and select the 'Copy' option when prompted.
Step 6
Tap the 'System' folder icon, followed by the 'Fonts' folder icon. Tap the 'Mount R/W' button, followed by the 'Paste' option to paste the TTF file there.
Step 7
Tap and hold the 'DroidSans.ttf' file in the 'Fonts' folder and rename the file 'DroidSans.ttf.orig.' Tap and hold the .TTF file you pasted in Step 6 and rename the file 'DroidSans.ttf.'
Tap the 'Mount R/O' button to reboot the device. Once the device reboots, the new TTF font will be used instead of the default DroidSans.ttf font.
